“Making Meals with Mary” – by Richmond Dykes
After a second day snowed in about 3km from the blue ice and with the weather not greatly improving, Mary Mouse and l decided to make the most of our “snow day” by watching a few movies, including Bedknobs and Broomsticks, The Young Frankenstein and The Italian Job. Now I know what you are all thinking, Richmond is such a big child; but they were Mary’s suggestions and from her own private collection, not mine. I promise.
With having so much time on my hands today, l got to thinking about what we could do (not always the best idea, I must admit) and came to the conclusion that it being such a lazy day, Mary and I needed to do something creative. Dinner was cooked as normal and then to everyone’s surprise, Mary and l got the frying pan out and proceeded to whip up a pancake batter to use up some of our industrial-grade, one gallon jar of chocolate sauce that Ran has left us stuck with (it had been brought along as a calorie boost to help him with his skiing). It took about 20 minutes for Mary and me to make five huge pancakes and a lot less time for Rob, Spence, Ian and Brian to wolf them down.
With our bellies full and our tummies well rubbed, we headed back to the bedroom to watch tonight’s movie, Madagascar; Mary’s choice once again, of course!
