How many miles per gallon to these Cats do when pulling the train?

This was videoed a couple of weeks ago. It is not completely dark yet anyway, although the nights are drawing in fast! Within a few weeks it will be dark pretty much the whole time. Have you got a question for Spencer and Richmond?!

Hello Lilyp and Elliew, here is the link to a chart that shows the times of daylight through the winter months in Antarctica. You might need to ask someone if you can print it out. The times are accurate for the coast where the expedition started. The further South the team get, the less daylight there is. A few days ago, people working at the South Pole saw the sunset for the last time till next Spring (September) Best wishes, Rosie at Operations HQ

Do the materials (metals, ‘glass’, plastics etc) that the Cats and other equipment are made of, become brittle at very low temperatures and what might these be?

All seems to be going well so far. No doubt when darkness comes and temp falls, tempers will become frayed and arguments will happen. How do you intend to cope with this?

That’s such a great video. It deserves an award for best film done under adverse circumstances. Brilliant photos too. Antarctica looks like another planet.
